Latest Updates from Our Project:

Back from SPIEL! Backerkit surveys are coming soon!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 29, 2019 at 04:52:16 PM

Dear backers,

we just got back to Italy after an exciting but very exhausting week at the SPIEL fair in Essen, Germany. Our two new game releases for the fair, The King's Dilemma and Similo, both performed very well. We also had a demo table where the fair attendees could play Unicorn Fever, and its reception has been extremely good as well! We will need a few days more to fully recover, but it's been wonderful to see all of the hard work of the past year bear its first fruits.

Our booth was full almost all of the time, including the Unicorn Fever table :)

In other news: the 14 day period that Kickstarter needs to collect the money from your pledges and send it to us is almost over, and this means that we will soon be able to open our pledge manager! Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

As we did for our previous campaigns, we will use BackerKit as our pledge manager platform.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the question about your language preference, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://unicorn-fever.backerkit.com.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://unicorn-fever.backerkit.com/faq.

Until next time!

Sincerely,

the Horrible Guild

SPECIAL UPDATE: we are changing name!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Oct 21, 2019 at 01:05:06 AM

Dear backers,

we have some news about us as a company. We've grown a great deal since Lorenzo Silva established the company in 2014. Over the years, from a team of just two people (including Lorenzo) we expanded to a big family of seven, we moved to a bigger office, and we increased the amount of games we release each year. Now we have a big catalog with several worldwide hits, and a lot of new projects in our pipeline.

We decided we needed a new name, one that could be faithful to our story while also better describing who we are today, compared to who we were when we started, back in 2014, and with a new name, a new logo is also needed. Without further ado, please allow us to introduce you to our new selves... we were known as "Horrible Games", but now we are the Horrible Guild!

Our new logo still features our beloved tentacle (with an updated look and a new nice "shield" background), our characteristic shade of green, as well as our initials "HG"... it's new, but you can also still clearly identify us.

Regarding the new name, we think that the word "guild" better describes us as we are now, a bigger group of people sharing the same goal: designing, developing and producing cool and innovative games capable of bringing fun to everyone.

The additional benefit of the change is that, finally, you won't have to tell your friends that we don't actually make "horrible games" when you introduce one of our games to them: we are simply a bunch of silly people with a horrible name doing great games! 😜

Pay us a visit in Hall 4, booth 4-A108!

Our new branding will officially debut next week at the SPIEL'19 fair in Essen, Germany. You can come pay us a visit in Hall 4, booth 4-A108, where you will find two tables with Unicorn Fever prototypes that you will be able to check out and even play with! We are building a brand new website at our new web address www.horribleguild.com (Look, Mom, no hyphen!) and we will also update all our social media profiles to reflect the change (but if you already follow us, there shouldn't be anything you need to do).

You will also see our company name and logo change here, on Kickstarter, but you don't have to worry: it's still us, and we're still working hard to deliver you Unicorn Fever!

Until next time!

Play HORRIBLE, join the GUILD!

Sincerely,

the Horrible Guild

3124 times THANK YOU!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 16, 2019 at 01:33:42 AM

Dear backers,

it is just past midnight here in Italy, and we can officially declare this campaign over! It was an amazing campaign, and our hearts are overwhelmed with joy for your enthusiastic response to Unicorn Fever, our crazy unicorns, and their quirky gift-fueled racing bonanza! We hope it was as fun for you to participate in our little game-updates than it was for us and our unicorns to write them! 🤓 🦄

We'll take a few days to rest now, but you will hear more from us soon. And if you'll attend the SPIEL'19 fair in Essen (Germany) next week, don't hesitate to pay us a visit at our booth in Hall 4, booth 4-A108, where you will be able to take a look at one of the prototypes of Unicorn Fever (or even give it a try), have a chat with us, or maybe check out some of our other games too! SPIEL'19 will run from thursday October 24 to sunday October 27. We hope to see you there!

Until next time!

Sincerely,

the Horrible team

You did it! The final stretch goal has been unlocked!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 15, 2019 at 03:10:27 AM

Dear backers,

you did it! WIth the third and final "stretch goal unicorn", the majestic Ludwig von Hornerstein, we unlocked the last stretch goal of this campaign! Hurray! With the addition of Ludwig von Hornerstein, the first expansion box of Unicorn Fever including 3 additional unicorns is now complete! This expansion will be available as a separate purchase when the game will reach the regular retail market, but all our backers (with a Standard pledge or higher) will receive it for free!

We would like to thank you all, this has been an extremely fun campaign for us and our lovely, crazy unicorns, and we hope you enjoyed it too 😊. And with slightly less than 12 hours left, let's see if we can reach yet another important milestone with 3000 backers!

Until next time!

Sincerely,

the Horrible team

Another Stretch Goal unlocked & Crazy Gift Race #3: round 4 results!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Oct 12, 2019 at 01:45:36 AM

Dear Backers,

we unlocked another stretch goal! You will all receive 2 additional Magic cards inside your base game boxes, and this means more questionable race-fixing shenanigans for your arsenal of magical trickeries! Next on our menu, an additional clan of Contract cards: the Witches! With the current pace we expect it to be unlocked before the end of the weekend, just before the final rush of the campaign will start (this is when we'll see the pace really accelerating again, possibly almost to launch-like levels). After that, we will have a final batch of stretch goals to reveal... stay tuned!

In other news, it's time again: let's see how to check the status of our Crazy Gift Race! It's been an unusal race so far, and the trend was confirmed in this latest round:

Once again, some of the unicorns with the worse odds moved faster than those in front of them. This is not impossible, but seeing so many cards like this in the same race is definitely not the most common pattern. Good for Duke Rodolfo, who managed to not lose contact with the podium, and Melody Sweet, who avoided being overtaken by Hilda Rainbowbreaker (who only moved forward 2 spaces). Just an average round with 2 spaces of movement also for Cinnamon Carmen, Frankie Flakes, El Sparko Dorado. With these results, no unicorn crossed the finish line... but let's take a look at your votes now!

Your Sprint Votes rewarded once again both Frankie Flakes (who obtained the most votes for the fourth round in a row) and El Sparko Dorado (a close second)! With this sprint, both unicorns managed to cross the finish line, in an exciting photofinish... before we consider your Slow Down Votes, that is. Drumroll, please...

Incredible! It was El Sparko's turn to be slowed down this time, and this means that Frankie Flakes won this race! The third time's the charm, apparently! You will all receive a wonderfully silly unicorn circlet to use as alternative first player token, last player token, or whatever you find funny or useful! El Sparko ends up tied with Duke Rodolfo, but since he had the best odds of the two, he ranks in second position, with the purple vain obtaining a respectable third place.

The end of this campaign is approaching, and we can't wait to unlock the next stretch goal and see what will happen when the final rush will start!

Until next time!

Sincerely,

the Horrible team
