Dear backers,
we would like to start this update with a small treat for our Spanish backers: an "How to Play Unicorn Fever" video in Spanish by unna! You can watch unna's video here below!
As great fans of the good old point-and-click adventure videogame "Day of the Tentacle" (and tentacles in general, as you might have guessed from our logo), we are also great fans of unna's Purple Tentacle meeple logo! XD
And now, it's time for our daily Crazy Gift Race update! The race is definitely heating up (at least for some of the contendants)!
Cinnamon Carmen received the most votes again, and again, she received much more votes than it was actually needed: she moved forward 4 spaces once again. Frankie Flakes was very close to her this time in terms of votes received, enough to move forward 3 spaces (he was slowed down by his odds, but with a handful of votes more, he would have been able to move 4 spaces like Carmen). With a little bit of help from the Gods of Sprint, he's still closely following Carmen, just 1 space behind the orange spice, but with just a tiny bit more help from his supporters, and another assist from the sprint dice, Frankie might be able to actually catch up with her next round! El Sparko Dorado only gathered enough votes to move forward 2 spaces, but he received a bit of help from the sprint dice just like Frankie; he is however now lagging a bit behind, 2 spaces behind the leader. Melody Sweet, Hilda Rainbowbreaker, and Duke Rodolfo didn't gain many votes, and they all only moved forward 1 space this round.
It's only either Frankie or Carmen at this point, and the next round will probably be the last of this race! Will the brown "real" unicorn gather enough support to close the gap with the orange leader, or will he finish the race in second place once again? Will Carmen grab a well-deserved victory, or will bad luck strike her again like a lightning out of the clear blue sky?
Get ready to for a new round, keep in mind the odds of the unicorns, and vote wisely! Here is a quick reminder of the how many votes it will take to move each unicorn forward 1 space, and which will be the gift you'll get if they win:

Crazy Gift Race #2: round 1 results!

it's time for another Crazy Gift Race status update... and what a start!
Cinnamon Carmen was by far the most popular unicorn this round... even too much popular! It only takes 5 votes to move her forward 1 space, but each unicorn can only move up to 4 spaces each round... more than 50 votes for Carmen were basically "wasted". But what a blazing start for the orange spice! After he ranked second at the end of the fist race, Frankie Flakes needs 15 votes to move forward 1 space (three times what it takes to move Cinnamon Carmen), but despite this, he proved to be very popular too, and he managed to move forward 3 spaces. El Sparko Dorado has slightly worse odds and he received a decent amount of votes: enough to move forward 2 spaces, the same number of spaces as Melody Sweet (who didn't receive as many votes, but since she has the worse odds just like Carmen, it's quite easier for her to move forward). These two lucky unicorns also both obtained the favor of the Gods of Sprint and moved forward 1 extra space, catching up with Frankie Flakes! Finally, sharing the last position, we find Hilda Rainbowbreaker and Duke Rodolfo; they both moved forward 1 space only, but for different reasons. Hilda gathered a decent amount of votes (less than Carmen and Frankie, but similar to El Sparko), but she was slowed down by her odds: it's quite difficult to move her forward. Poor Rodolfo, instead, simply didn't gather enough votes to move forward more than 1 space. His ego and his trust in his good looks seem to be much greater than his popularity, poor thing.
What an exciting start! At least four unicorns are closely competing for victory, but not all hope is lost for the last two either. With the different odds each unicorn has, this race can reserve many surprises! We can't wait to see how this race will proceed going forward. Get ready to for a new round, keep in mind the odds of the unicorns and vote wisely! A new prize! New rules! The second Crazy Gift Race is starting!

Dear backers,
after their day of rest, our unicorns are more than ready to race once again! Now that we can use the results of the first race to determine a ranking among our unicorns, for this second race we can adopt slightly different rules, that more closely resemble how a real race of Unicorn Fever works. Please allow us to introduce you to... the Odds!
In a Unicorn Fever game, a successful bet on the favorite unicorn (the one with the best odds) is less rewarding than a successful bet on unicorns with worse odds (you gain less with the same amount of money placed on the bet). The Crazy Gift Race works in a different way, but we can replicate that same feeling by having the votes on unicorns have a different weight depending on its odds... keep reading to know more!
Once again, the race status will be updated once per day. Each day, each unicorn will move forward an amount of spaces depending on the actual amount of votes received... but each unicorn will have a different "vote to movement" conversion rate! To put it in simpler terms, it will take more votes to make the favorite unicorn move forward 1 space, while the least favorite unicorn will be able to move forward 1 space with less votes. All unicorns will also move at least 1 space, but no more than 4 spaces each turn... at one point, votes on a certain unicorn could become "useless" because that unicorn already gathered enough to move the maximum amount of spaces allowed! This should allow for a more exciting and close race... we can't wait to see what will happen!
Here is a quick reference of the current ranking of the unicorns, how many votes it will take for each one fo them to move forward 1 space, and which will be the gift you'll get if they win:

Crazy Gift Race: round 3 results!

Dear backers,
a new week starts! As anticipated, we managed to unlock the glittered dice stretch goal over the weekend, and we're now trailing after the next: Emily Ravenhoof, a new unicorn miniature to further increase our roster of quadruped athletes. Good job everyone, keep it up and help us spread the fever by sharing our campaign with your friends!
Let's move to the main event of this update: the results for the third round of our Crazy Gift Race! Did Frankie Flakes manage to snatch victory from Hilda Rainbowbreaker's apparently firm grasp? Drumroll, please...
With her third round as the top most voted unicorn in a row, Hilda Rainbowbreaker just barely crossed the finish line, ranking in first place! A regular Unicorn Fever race would go on until all unicorns have crossed the finish line to determine the final ranking, but for the sake of the Crazy Unicorn Race, we'll consider the other unicorns as ranked in their current position. Frankie Flakes received the second most votes again, and with a much smaller gap from Hilda compared to previous rounds, buthe only ranks second. El Sparko Dorado and Duke Rodolfo didn't get many votes this round, but they were both favored for a second time by the Gods of Sprint, ranking in third and fourth position respectively. Cinnamon Carmen's streak of bad luck lingers on: despite being (again) the unicorn with the third most votes (even if by a much wider margin from Frankie this time), she only managed to rank in fifth position. Last but not least (even if she did obtain the least votes overall over the full race), our poor little Melody Sweet even slipped out of frame on the official UnicornTV™ livestream as she ended her race in sixth position.
Congratulations to all the Hilda fans out there! Your unrelenting support allowed the blue horned wonder to unlock a free, minuscule, useless but utterly cute small cauldron as a gift for all Unicorn Fever pledges (Standard/Deluxe/Ultimate)!
We'll give our unicorns the rest of the day to rest, celebrate their good result and/or console those among them who had a bad performance. A new crazy gift race will start TOMORROW, with slightly different rules: now that we have determined a ranking among our unicorns, we will be able to bring their odds into play during the next race... ;)

Crazy Gift Race: round 2 results!

we hope you're having a nice sunday! At the time we're writing this, we are extremely close to unlocking the glittered sprint dice! Sundays are tipically slow days on Kickstarter, but with such a small gap in front of us, we're pretty sure they will be unlocked during today, well done everyone!
Without further ado, let's move to the news you are all waiting for: another Crazy Gift Race update! This round reserved us a few surprises, but also confirmed one thing: you either root for our dear Hilda Rainbowbreaker with unrelenting passion, or you really, really, really want that tiny, almost useless, but utterly adorable small cauldron!
Here are the results after the second round of the race:
Hilda Rainbowbreaker received the most votes again, but with a much smaller margin over your second favourite unicorn, Frankie Flakes. They moved 4 and 3 spaces forward respectively. The race between Frankie and Carmen was very, very close again (they were just 3 votes apart), but luck really doesn't seem to be on the orange softie's side: Cinnamon Carmen only moved forward 2 spaces (again). With a breath of pride, Duke Rodolfo gained the fourth most votes this time around, closely followed by El Sparko Dorado. Just like Carmen, they moved forward 2 spaces. This round it was Melody Sweet to obtain the least votes, so she only moved forward 1 space, just enough to stem Rodolfo's comeback, but this means they were tied in last place... until the Gods of Sprint intervened again! The results of the Sprint dice, of all unicorns, were in favor of Melody and Rodolfo, who both moved forward 1 additional space and managed to catch up with Cinnamon Carmen! Poor Carmen, even if she obtained the third most votes for two rounds in a row, she is now sharing the last place with Melody and Rodolfo.
It's now only either Hilda or Frankie for the victory... unless something crazy happens next round! If Hilda will move 4 spaces again next round, she will cross the finish line (just barely). Will Frankie be able to catch up? Will El Sparko manage to get near the leading couple? Will Carmen finally manage to capitalize on her popularity and grab at least a place on the podium, or will her streak of bad luck go on? Melody and Rodolfo are just next to her now...
